What's That In Your Ear?
Glasses have always been pretty cool to wear, but for some reason people look down on those who wear hearing aids. Let's face it, it's just not cool to have these devices in your ears. A guy on the prowl at a bar is much more likely to go after a woman with a nice pair of designer glasses as opposed to one with hearing aids in both ears. I don't know why this is and I'm not saying that I like it, but that's just the way it is.
At least for now!
Because I really believe in the very near future, all of this is going to change.
Here is my prediction: Very soon, it will be totally normal to be walking around with little devices in the ears that loosely resemble hearing aids as we know them today. Anyone wearing these MID's (multi-use intraear devices) will be able to talk on their mobile phone without having to hold a handset up to their ears. This will work by a wireless principle similar to Bluetooth. It may even be Bluetooth... I'm not sure.
Also, with the same MID's in your ear, you will be able to listen to your iPod, Walkman, or any type of music player. Same goes for your TV. They will act like little headphones that a signal gets beamed to.
But it doesn't stop there. These MID's will also act as hearing aids so if you need to hear things a little better, they will allow you to do so. And since everyone will have these MID's, it will be cool. There will be no stigma attached to them like the hearing aids of today.
There are so many more uses. Let's say you go to a concert or a play. Flip a little switch on your MID's and you'll get a direct feed from the soundboard!
I'm looking forward to the day when we are all wearing MID's. They'll probably come in all kinds of cool colors! Then of course, there'll be accessories! Imagine walking through the mall and stopping at a kiosk and buying a pair! Sound far fetched? Well, think back twenty years. Whoever thought that you'd be able to go to a stand at any mall and purchase a little mobile phone that fits in your pocket?
By the way, I did not read about these MID's anywhere, nor did I see them on the news. They are totally made up by me but I believe they will become reality one day. Anyone want to team up with me?
