She told us about a really cool way she “secretly” markets her practice on Facebook that works incredibly well!!
This woman is a member and participant in a local Facebook group for mothers in her community – it is called “Vail Moms.” (As of this writing the group has over 2600 members!) The purpose of this group, of course, is to chat, socialize, and to support and enrich the lives of fellow community members who happen to be Moms.
So.. of course when a dental question comes up she gives an answer and invites her neighbor, in a non-pushy way, to visit the practice. Then – this leads to an amazing snowball effect! Since all 2000+ members of this group now have a bonafide dental authority as a friend, they ask her all kinds of toothy questions – which of course lead to a suggestion to stop by the office.
In the case of our Colorado attendee this was done organically – in other words, she didn’t join the group with the intent of being a dental expert and generating tons of new patients. But wow – did it ever work!!
Every community, large or small, has their own Facebook groups. If you are in a very small town there is likely just one group to cover everything. If your city is a little larger there are probably groups to cover every interest – be it Moms, restaurant lovers, mah jongg players – whatever the case may be.
So do it! Join a group that interests you and become an active participant. Then, in an understated way, let people know you are a dental person. Then – boom! You will get patients, referrals, and everything else we love.
It’s simple, it’s free, it’s fun and it works!! So why spend money on Facebook ads and get marginal results when you can do this?
