If there is one thing you should do to increase your practice visibility right now, this is it!
Actually it’s four things. But as you will see in a second, they are all related!
What you need to do TODAY is to claim your practice on four search listing sites. That’s right… only four. For now!
There is a very good chance you have claimed one or two of these. We would bet the ranch that you have not done all four!
So here are the four sites you need to go to RIGHT NOW and make sure you claim your practice! And we will explain why this is so important.
Google. This one is pretty obvious but it is amazing how many dentists have not actually taken three minutes to claim their Google page. What is the benefit of doing this? First of all, it will improve your ranking. People will find you whether they are looking on Search, Maps or Google+. In addition to that, it allows you to make sure the information that Google has listed about your practice is accurate. And very importantly, when someone searches for you, a sidebar will appear with all of your info at their fingertips. This is a must!!! Simply go to https://google.com/business, click where it says “Get on Google,” and follow directions!
Yelp. Even if you do not use Yelp, you are likely listed. So you need to know this. And we are very confident that when you claim your Yelp page your visibility will seriously increase on both desktop and mobile devices! Once you do, you will be able to edit and make sure all of the info they have about you is correct. You can link to your website and give visitors reasons to visit your practice! Also you will be able to engage with people giving you reviews. This is especially important when dealing with negative reviews! Go to https://biz.yelp.com and follow the easy directions.
Bing. Maybe not as popular as Google, but still extremely relevant. Tons of loyal Microsoft fans use Bing every day as their primary search engine. Bing has a local directory which is fairly similar to Google’s “My Business.” When you claim your Bing page, you will then be able to control your information. As you can see, this is very important! Go to https://bingplaces.com and click “Get Started.”
The Yellow Pages. Sure, they are dead. No one reads the hard copy Yellow book any more, but online version of The Yellow Pages is still significant. Apparently Google’s latest algorithm (called Pigeon) gives much greater search result recognition to directories and directory listings. So we recommend you claim your listing with The Yellow Pages as a start! To get started, go to http://adsolutions.yp.com/local-solutions/listing-management and click “Request More Information.”
