If you ever have a crappy day in dentistry…..

If you ever have a crappy day in dentistry, well you’re not alone. It happens to all of us from time to time.

And sometimes when a day doesn’t go well, you start to question what you are doing. What is your purpose?

When you get down, just remember you are a dental professional and you have it better than most people in this country! Want a few reasons why?

1. You help people – really, really, really help people. You do this all day long.

2. You build relationships. Count the many patients that have been coming to see you on a regular basis for a long time. They look at you not only as their dentist, but as their friend and confidante.

3. You set the atmosphere in your office. You can listen to your favorite music all day every day. (Some of us are a deejays disguised as a dentist.) You can joke around when you want.

4. You get to work with high tech “toys” and some really cool materials.

5. You are a teacher.

6. You have flexibility. You can work the hours that you want.

7. There is basically no limit to what you can earn.

8. You have tremendous respect in the community.

9. People listen to you.

10. You have a path towards financial freedom. Invest regularly and wisely while you are a practicing dentist and you will be financially secure as you approach retirement.

11. If you own your practice, you never have to worry about a boss telling you what to do, or getting fired, laid off, transferred, etc…

12. You change lives.

Does that help with your crappy day? Do you feel better now?
