Let’s start our September Tips & Ideas with a quote on leadership:

The longer you let things fester, the more difficult they become to handle. If you seem to be spending your time “putting out fires,” please pay particular attention.

Employee Appreciation:

September starts with “Random Acts of Kindness / Be Kind Day.” Surprise your team with a special treat or a small gift card.  If the team is reading this, why not surprise the doctor(s) with a special gift?

Practice Management: 

Office Yearly Goals – September will close out your third quarter for the year – will you surpass the third-quarter numbers from 2018?  Where do you stand with your production, collection, and new patient goals for 2019? What needs to change in order to successfully reach your goals? Discuss this as a team. If you’re unclear on how to do this, we can help!

Unscheduled Treatment Plans & Hygiene Continuing Care – Reach out to all your patients who have incomplete treatment plans or are past-due in hygiene. Encourage them to schedule their appointment during the month of September.

September Tips on Marketing

Exceed expectations for your current patients and the potential new patients that you engage within your community. I will give you two theme ideas:

Theme #1: Fall into a Beautiful & Healthy Smile

Focus: Preventive & Cosmetic Services – Add “Would you like to whiten your teeth?” or “Are you happy with your smile?” to each dental hygiene visit.

Give-Away: Drawing for a Fall Themed Gift Basket. Patients can enter the drawing by leaving a review on Google and/or Facebook, referring their friends & family, and for coming in for their appts. in September.

Theme #2: Are you ready for some football?

September is the start of football season – whether you’re a fan of football or not, celebrating football season with your office team and patients is a great way to have more fun and exceed expectations.

  • Special offers on sports mouthguards
  • Post sports-related dental health tips on your social media pages.
  • Cheer on your local football teams via your social media platforms.
  • Have a raffle to win football game tickets or a football-themed gift basket to encourage Facebook likes, check-ins, referrals, and reviews on Google, Facebook, & Yelp.


Educational Opportunity

September is World Alzheimer’s Month. 

For most people, teeth cleaning may just be a normal part their your daily routine. But what if the way you clean your teeth today might affect your chances of getting Alzheimer’s disease in years to come?

Use this as an opportunity to also educate your patients and the community about the importance of dental health care for Alzheimer’s patients in helping to keep them comfortable and healthy.

September 5th: Be Late for Something Day But not your dental appointment! Here is why it’s so important for you to arrive on time for your appointments!
September 14th: Banana Day
September 21st: National Clean-Up Day Schedule your all-important professional dental cleaning, examination, and oral cancer screening.

September 25th: National One-Hit Wonder Day What is your all-time favorite one-hit wonder?
September 30th: National Chewing Gum Day
